When a session is saved, the program allows you to name the session file anything you like (but always defaults to the same name as the wave file).
So if you change the session file name to something other than the wave file name, it becomes a bit of a nuisance later on. For if you open or restore that session file for later use, when you go to save it again, the save dialog prompt defaults back to the name of the wav file, INSTEAD of defaulting to the name that you chose for the session file (which is the 'current' open session file...). You then have to choose your custom named file from the file list to have it saved again under that custom name.
In my opinion, if a custom name is chosen for the session file, it should be like a 'document'. The default 'save' name should be the same as the name of the 'current' file that was opened or restored. In other words, to 're-save' a session, you should be able to choose 'save session' and just hit 'save' to save it under the same name as before. But if you do that today, your session file will get renamed to whatever the wav file name is, because the save dialog always defaults back to that wav file name. |

Hi Randy
Yes, that's a good point and I think i will be easy to fix. I'm working on a new beta at the moment and I'll incorporate this if a t all possible. _________________ Derek Higgins

Derek,
Thanks for thinking about it -- I just thought it would make sense for the program to remember what the open session file name is/was. If you can change it, great. If not, it's not the end of the world. It would just make that 'save/save' path much smoother, assuming one wants to put a 'custom' name on the session file.
